Klinsmann Steps Down
Although Germany`s campaign of World Cup 2006 is considered to be a surprising success, Germany`s coach, Juergen Klinsmann, has decided to step down, as said by the co-president of the German soccer federation on Wednesday. "I regret his decision, but we have to accept it," Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder said.
Klinsmann did not address the public yet and only called German soccer federation co-president Theo Zwanziger and Oliver Bierhoff, the national team manger. After Germany`s gave against Portugal, Klinsmann said that he needs some time to think about his future with the German team, and this week he gave his final word.
There are no known future plans for the 41-year-old coach. Coaching Germany was the first coaching position the Klinsmann ever filled and he did a great job at it. Klinsmann took the young German team to the semifinals where they lost to eventual champion Italy.
