Scolari Contemplates Future in Portugal
Following Portugal`s defeat to Germany over the third place in World Cup, and the fact that Portugal was not able to make it to the final, Luiz Felipe Scolari is contemplating his future as Portugal`s coach. The veteran coach said that he would put his `personal satisfaction` over his wallet on this one when negotiating his next contract.
The FPF will be more that happy to see Scolari keep his post. Scolari took Portugal to the Euro 2004 final the World Cup semi-finals, two of the countries greatest achievements. "I have been talking to the president (Gilberto Madail) but there has not been a decision yet," he stated. "I do not want to think about it now. I don`t want to shift the attention from the match against Germany," Scolari said before the match on Saturday.
"I have a lot of respect for all the players and I have a great friendship with the president and after the World Cup we are going to decide what we will do. There are many things that I need to evaluate," he added. "For example money, but that is not so important. I have plenty of money and don`t need any more. The most important thing is my personal satisfaction."
