FIFA Investigates Frings

Everyone who was watching the quarterfinals match between Germany and Argentina on Friday, saw the riot that erupted shortly after the game ended. FIFA was not too happy with the turn of events and now investigates Germany`s midfielder Torsen Frings, Argentina`s defender Leonardo Cufre, and forward Maxi Rodriguez for their part in the fracas.

FIFA is also considering sanctions against some of the team`s officials that allegedly participated in the trouble. The referee right along other FIFA officials were caught up in the chaos of punches and kicks in front of a crowd of 72,000 people. FIFA said at first that no action will be taken against Germen players, but now Frings is being investigated. FIFA believe that he might be the one who started the whole fiasco.

"Following new evidence coming to light, the disciplinary committee have opened a case against the German player Torsten Frings who they are considering played an active role in the incident at the end of the match," said FIFA spokesman Markus Siegler. "The German federation and the player (Frings) have until 10 o`clock on Monday morning to submit a written explanation,` said Siegler. Because of the urgency of the situation a decision will be announced by the committee on Monday afternoon."
