Terry Might Replace Beckham

Although Sven-Goran Eriksson said he believed that England would make it to the final, the British team was knocked out of the tournament by Portugal, once again. Following the lose, the team`s captain, David Beckham, announced that he will resign from his duties after five and a half years. England is considering a few replacements and the name of John Terry came up.

Terry was not even considered for the last World Cup because of an affray charge hanging over him. It is already know that Eriksson will not continue as England`s coach, and his successor, Steve McClarn, is favoring Terry. Chelsea`s player was subsequently clean and has reinvented himself off the pitch.

The second favorite is Steven Gerrard, but Terry is the better choice. Terry is the captain of his team, Chelsea and led it to two premiership titles. On England`s match against Ecuador, when Beckham was not fit to play, Terry replaced Beckham and led England to victory.
