Female Fans of World Cup in Spotlight

Female Football Fanatics are four young women who not only love playing but most especially enjoy being spectators of the game of soccer. ?We want to go to the World Cup! That?s our ultimate dream!? says Rahma Mohamed, one of the fanatics, ?This is why we?ve recently launched a campaign, Send us to the World Cup 2006, which will hopefully provide assistance in getting us there.?

These female fans have created a website, "Send Us to the World Cup", where supportive people can read about them while keeping up-to-date on their progress, chat with other soccer fans, send in fanatical soccer pictures and make donations to help them.

Their goal is not only to be there at the World Cup in Germany this year, but to also bring light to the world of female soccer fans,? adds Makeda Paul, who is another of the fanatics. ?We want to increase the awareness of female fans because currently there?s enough information on male soccer fanatics and virtually nothing on the female side. Male spectators have been featured for years while female fans have seldom had their stories shared with the world.?

Now, that has forever changed thanks to the internet.
