Hornet?s Dynamic Duo
The biggest keys to the Hornets success this season have been the play of rookie point guard Chris Paul and David West. The two have given the Hornets more than anyone expected them too. While Paul is a leading candidate for wining the Rookie of the Year Award, West is bound to get consideration for Most Improved Player. David West is an up and coming Power Forward who has meant everything to the Hornets this season
David West is currently averaging 16.8 points on 51% shooting, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists a game. Chris Paul is becoming one of the best point guards in the NBA right now and is currently averaging 16.7 points on 44% shooting, 5.7 rebounds, and 7.5 assists, with 2.23 steals a game. These are really good numbers for a rookie, and he plays like an experienced veteran most of the time.
These two players are young and have the rest of their NBA careers to gel together. Now just how good of a duo they will become really depends on them. There have been two great combinations that show that a Point Guard and a Power Forward when given time can prove to be a successful and deadly combination.
