Bobcats Get More Bad News
The Bobcats forward/center Sean May announced over the weekend that his season is over and he intends to rehab his knee and hopes to be a 100% by the time training camp begins in the summer. May was picked 13th in last year?s NBA draft, after a stellar season with the North Carolina in which he won the NCAA title. As a result of this announcement, Coach/GM Bernie Bickerstaff was asked whether or not he would apply to the league for an injured player exception, giving the team the option of pursuing another player to help fill the void.
With Gerald Wallace also going down, some more of the air has been taken out of this team. How much more the team can take is unknown. The good news is that Kareem Rush worked out for the first time a couple of days ago, Jake Voskuhl has come back to help ease the burden of Primoz Brezec and both Melvin Ely and Emeka Okafor are on the road to recovery.
Although Bickerstaff said that the team was now considering the injured player exception, he was also quick to point out that if there was a player out there that brought what Wallace did to the team, he would already be in the league.
