Kings of their Domain
Boasting a record of 15-21, the 2005-2006 Sacramento Kings are reminiscing of the Mitch Richmond era, in which the team never made it out of the lottery. Arco Arena used to be one of the loudest arenas in the league. This season the Arco faithfuls don?t have as much to cheer for as in years past. The Kings are on a roller coaster of inconsistency, except that even in the wins they don?t look that great. Up and down, down and up.
The Kings could have a legitimate excuse in that they are playing without two to three of their starters of course and that shortens up the bench. But it?s not like they were playing stellar ball before Bonzi Wells, Shareef Abdur-Rahim or Peja Stojakovic went down. From the team to a player it seems that if the Kings win one night they are guaranteed to lose the next, and if a player has a strong performance it will surely be followed by an ?MIA? type game the next time.
Tonight the Kings play 24-12 Phoenix. Based on the roller coaster that has been the Kings the expectations would be for the Kings to be raising their hands and closing their eyes as they go down that roller coaster hill. However they did beat Phoenix back in early November 118-117. Sacramento tends to play better when it?s just about offense so keep your eyes open and hold
