After going 8-1, the Jazz dropped two games in a row. On Saturday, the Jazz lost at home to the Miami Heat 100-94. Yesterday, the Jazz suffered their second straight loss. This time it was on the road playing against the Clippers. Elton Brand returned to the court after missing two games with a injured hip and led the Los Angeles Clippers to an 102-93 overtime victory over the Utah Jazz.

In a midday game at Staples Center on Martin Luther King Day, Brand didn?t skip a beat. He posted an impressive stat line scoring 35 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 blocks against the Jazz including scoring six straight points in overtime as the Clippers outscored the Jazz 15-6 in the extra period. The Clippers were without their leading scorer in the two pervious games as but the injury hip didn?t seem to bother Brand.

The Clippers now have won three in a row and are three game back of the Pacific Division leading Phoenix Suns who visit the Staples Center to take on the Clippers on Wednesday. If Elton Brand wants to be considered an MVP candidate its games like this that will garner some MVP votes for the Clippers forward.
