Lewis Picking Up the Slack
After making it to the All Star game for the first time in his career last season, Lewis is making a strong case for a repeat visit. To those of you that don?t remember, Lewis was drafted by the Sonics straight out of high school. The last couple of seasons, Lewis has shown that Seattle?s game has paid off big time. In Seattle"s 15 wins, Lewis is averaging 27 points, and he was just five points off his career high of 50 set in 2003.
Lewis scored a season-high 45 points and the Sonics overcame Allen"s ejection for a 113-104 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. Lewis was outstanding, finishing 12-of-18 from the field and 17-of-20 from the free-throw line. It was his best game since scoring 41 in an overtime win against Toronto in November, and Seattle improved to 13-5 when Lewis scores 20 or more points.
Luke Ridnour picked up the slack in Allen"s absence, making 9 of 16 shots and finished with a career-high 23 points, topping the 20-point mark for just the second time in his career.
