Bryant Goes on Historic Tear

Not since the days of the great Wilt Chamberlain has anyone been able to average over 45 points in over the course of four straight games. Kobe Bryant is the first player in 40 years who managed to do it. In the process, Bryant also led his team to three straight wins.

Bryant by the way, had two games of 45, one of 48 versus Philadelphia, and thenan incredible 40 point second half to score 50 points against the Clippers for a heady 47 point per game average and raised his scoring average to a league leading 34.1 PPG.

Remember this is a rare feat, one that has not been done that many other great scorers in decades since Chamberlain - including names like Larry Byrd, Karl Malone, Allen Iverson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, David Robinson, Isiah Thomas, and many others including even the "great one" himself - one Michael Jordan.

This year, Bryant has managed to raised his FG% to 44.3% still below some career years but a full percentage over the last two years, and seems to be enjoying being back in the triangle offense.
