Seahawks Have High Hopes for Jackson
As the Seahawks are gearing towards the playoffs, Coach Mike Holmgren is counting on Darrell Jackson to make his way back to the Seahawks? offense. Jackson, Seattle?s leading receiver was back at practice on Tuesday. The team said that Jackson is scheduled to play in Saturday`s NFC divisional playoff game against the Washington Redskins at Qwest Field. But how much he plays is still to be determined.
Jackson ran some plays with the first-team offense back on Tuesday. When he wasn"t doing that, he was joking with receiving mates Bobby Engram and D.J. Hackett on the sidelines. Holmgren said Jackson will be part of a Saturday receiver rotation that will again feature third wide receiver Joe Jurevicius. Jurevicius has a career-high 10 receiving touchdowns this season and emerged after Jackson and Engram were both injured.
Jackson missed nine games after he elected to have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Oct. 12 in Florida. He returned to play in wins over Tennessee and Indianapolis last month -- his first games since an Oct. 2 loss at Washington -- then sat out the Green Bay finale with residual soreness.
