Nash Leads Suns Past Heat
Steve Nash is making a strong case for back-to-back MVP. On Friday night the Suns hosted the Miami Heat who were playing without the injured Dwayne Wade and Jason Williams. I must say that I was blown away at how potent the Suns? offense is even without Stoudamire. Suns spaced the floor beautifully in winning 111-93, a score that did not reflect the early dominance of this game when the Suns led by Steve Nash?s 12 assists (in the first quarter) ran up 47 points against what seemed to be a bewildered Pat Riley?s Heat.
Nash was assisted by Raja Bell who had 24 points on a hot shooting night. Nash though was the story as he finished with 19 assists and continues to prove last year?s MVP award was no fluke as the Suns continue to roll on atop the Pacific Division without Amare Stoudemire led by Nash?s 18.9 PPG and 10.8 APG.
Bell as well though, has surely been a great pickup for the Suns as he is also a great on the ball defender. Watchout for the Suns - they remain for real despite the key knee injury to their young emerging superstar, Stoudemire.
