Jackson Steps in for Injured Stoudamire
Bobby Jackson who got traded to Memohis in the offseason no has the job of filling in for Damon Stoudamire who is lost for the season. Jackson, a combo guard has never played the point guard position while in Sacramento, which means that he would have some adjusting to do. However, Jackson is no stranger to stepping into an important role in the absence of a key player.
Jackson was the sixth man for the talented Sacramento Kings during their era when Webber, Vlade, Peja, & Bibby controlled the flow of the offense with their passing skills and dynamic scoring prowess. Jackson, the 2002-03 NBA Sixth Man Award winner, opened the 2002-03 season as the starting point guard for Sacramento as Mike Bibby was sidelined for the first 26 games due to a stress fracture.
With the Memphis Grizzlies, Bobby has taken on an almost identical role to that which he held in Sacramento. He provides instant offense and energy off the bench while also setting up the offense. He understands that his approach to the game may change if he is asked to play a starting role for the remainder of the season.
