Pierce and AI Staying Put

Both Philadelphia and Boston let the trade deadline pass them by without making a move. Was it intentional or was it because they couldn?t find anything to their liking? Allen Iverson?s name was mentioned, but AI told media in Houston that Billy King had consulted with him regarding trades, and that the team was looking for size at the deadline. It?s hard to believe a GM consults with a player, he?s trying to trade.

Another player that was marked as a likely to be moved is Paul Pierce. There have been rumors that Ainge looking to deal Pierce ever since he assumed office a couple of seasons ago. Everyone wants to talk about Paul Pierce, but word is the Celtics plan to keep him long term and they have in fact begun contract extension talks with Paul, in part to sooth the concern he was being shopped.

The C?s are not one of the team expected to make a deal today, but they have made some calls to see if there was anything out there that could help them.
