Pacers Meshing Well
Bringing in a new player into the mix is always a bit problematic, especially if that player is or used to be an all-star player with a bloated contract and a bloated ego. So far, Peja has fitted in well with a new system and new teammates. I must say that I?m plesently surprised of how well Peja has adjusted on the offensive end, given that Indiana?s offense is completely different than that of Sacramento.
Peja decided to become a more offensive oriented team and run more than usual. Also with Jermaine O?neal out, it is a better fit for them to not play in the half court as much. Peja isn?t much of a defender, but is a gifted shooter and offensive talent. So, they shifted their focus more towards offense, and it has paid off.
Their only recent loss has been to San Antonio, and they would have won had it not been for the unfortunate clutch play of Manu Ginobli. The Pacers are three games over .500 and third in the central division. The win last night was crucial. It gives them momentum going into the break. While they still would?ve only lost 2 recent games that would have killed their momentum.
