Sopping K-Mart

Rod Thorn decision not to cave in to Kenyon Martin?s salary demands when he became a free agent two summers ago turned out to be the right one. Before he got injured Martin was an above average power forward. Although playing alongside Jason Kidd would do that for most players. Martin certainly didn?t deserve the $90 million contract he got from Kiki in Denver, since this kind of money is reserved to franchise players, which Martin isn?t.

Realizing their mistake and the fact that they still owe him over $50 million over the course of the next 4 years, the Nuggets want cut their losses. This is why Martin is being shopped hard as the Nuggets no longer want any part of him. They will try their hardest to hold out for New York?s Channing Frye to be included in some incarnation of the Knicks/Magic talks seeing as how Nene is also on the block.

If manages to do it (and that?s a big if mind you), it would mean a total re-haul of their once-promising frontcourt. Martin fits in New York, both for his gritty play and hard-nosed attitude. It?s his most likely destination, but it all seems to be hinging on Frye?s inclusion in the deal.
