Wade Torches the Pistons
The Miami Heat and Pat Riley in particular have been criticized for getting blown out by the elite teams such as the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks. Yesterday, the Heat went up against maybe the best team in the league ? the Detroit Pistons. This time, the results were quite different. After a lackluster first half, Dwayne Wade came alive in the second half of this game, not letting the Detroit Pistons have their way with Wade and the struggling Heat.
Wade scored 18 points in the fourth quarter, 17 consecutive points for Miami to close out the game, and the exclamation point jumper with 2.3 seconds remaining. Dwayne wades performance was out of this world. Wade?s dominance in the fourth quarter of Sundays game reminded me of something Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, or Tracy McGrady would do. His team would look to him, and have all the confidence in the world that he must be mentioned with the great clutch players in the league as well.
Dwyane Wade?s 37 point performance made many people overlook the great game that Shaq had. 21 of his season-high 31 points in the first half, he came out aggressive and didn?t settle for his baby hook, he pounded the ball deep between Ben Wallace and Rasheed Wallace, members of the most physical front court in the NBA. His excellence in the fourth quarter is a great accomplishment and energy boost for the Miami Heat, in a point of the season where they really need to get things going.
