Falcons set records but lose to Cowboys

Dallas continues its impressive season, improving to 9-5 and a protecting their seat as the top team in the NFC East. The Falcons are still playing .500 football, even with quarterback Michael Vick setting new rushing records. The Falcons were ahead 14-0 at one point in the game, but finished with a 38-28 loss. Oh, and then there was Terrell Owens.

The talented wide receiver caught two touchdown passes, on a 7 yard one-handed catch and on a 51-yarder. He also spat in the face of his defender, DeAngelo Hall early in the game, a gesture for which he apologized after the game, saying it was accidental. Running back Marion Barber scored on two runs for Dallas.

For the Falcons, Vick`s four touchdown passes were not enough to lift the Falcons to where they could remain as winners. Vick has also reached 990 yards rushing for the season, setting a new league record. The previous record of 968 yards rushing by a quarterback was achieved 34 years ago by Bobby Douglass. Atlanta`s kicker also became the leading scorer in NFL history with four extra points, reaching 2,437 points for his career. Not enough, though, to beat the hot Cowboys.
