Dolphins crush Patriots

Although temperatures in Boston are about freezing, and in Miami they are in the high seventies, the Patriots will be glad to return home after their less than pleasant Sunday game against the Dolphins. A 21-0 blowout loss to the 6-7 Dolphins, only 90 passing yards and 189 yards in total, were a rare sight for the top NFL team of the century to experience. Although the loss will not, most likely, hurt their playoff run, the team is less likely now to get a bye week in the first round.

The Dolphins defense sacked visiting quarterback Tom Brady four times, forced three fumbles and hurried him on many other occasions. To that were added no less than nine penalties in the game for 71 yards. "We just couldn`t do anything right," Brady said. The Dolphins, on the other hand, repeated a feat that only the perfect team of 1972 accomplished ? shutting out the Patriots.

It was Miami`s fifth win in six games, following a dismal 1-6 season opening record. Brady fell to 7-5 against the Dolphins, and only 2-4 when in Miami. The Patriots are still an NFL powerhouse, as Brady`s record against the rest of the league proves. He is 70-20 against teams other than Miami.
