Wizards end Mavs winning streak
Two days after scoring only 10 points in a road game loss to the Chicago Bulls, Gilbert Arenas had 38 points and 8 assists to lead the Washington Wizards to an impressive 106-97 win over the Dallas Mavericks, which ended the visiting team`s 12-game winning streak. All five of starters scored in double figures by the time the game entered the fourth quarter, leading the game by as many as 31 points at one point during the third quarter.
A certain letdown in the final quarter helped the Mavericks make a 19-6 run and bring the score down to 102-95 with 1:07 left to play. Devin Harris scored 9 of the points in this run, and finished with 14. Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas scorers with 27 points.
The Wizards are now 7-10, but have yet to win a road game this season in eight games. After losing the first four games of the season, Dallas then went 12-0 to come two games shy of their franchise record winning streak.
