Yankees Learn About Pavano Undeclared Medical State

The Yankees were surprised to learn that their pitcher, Carl Pavano, underwent a car accident back in mid-August and is currently suffer from a pair of broken ribs, a very crucial piece of information that Pavano did not share with them until Monday. Pavano is not played at the moment due to other injuries that he sustained, and in fact did not play in the major leagues since June 27, 2005.

Yankees management was less the pleased about Pavano holding medical information from them. "Of course I`m angry. ... I have got an army of people here that we provide to put our players in the best position possible to succeed, and I do not want anybody to sabotage that by holding back. And clearly here, for a period of time that took place," were the words of Brain Cashman, the Yankees general manager.

It is still unclear whether the Yankees will take action against Pavano in regard to his contract. This is not the first time that the team handles such an occasion. Back in 2004, Aaron Boone hurt his knee while playing in the offseason ?a clear violation of his contract. The Yankees did not comment about their future actions as of yet.
