Juventus Keen on Returning to Serie A
Juventus does not want to let go. After being disqualified from playing at Italy`s first league due to their part in the match-fixing scandal, and having their appeal rejected, Juventus are still hoping to return to Serie A. The Italian said previously that it intends to appeal in a state court and try to overturn the Italian soccer federation`s decision. Even though FIFA`s president said that in case such action is indeed carried out, all Italian clubs including the national soccer team will be banned.
None of the above changed the fact that Juventus are set at returning to Serie A. The team has scheduled an appearance before the Regional Administrative Court of Lazio on Friday in order to appeal the decision, after all. "Our lawyers are speaking with those of the Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC). Between now and Friday anything is possible,"` Juventus chairman Giovanni Cobolli Gigli said.
Apparently, Juventus is hoping that the pressure will be favorable, and the fact that a possible FIFA ban might go into affect will pressure FIGC to reinstate their position. "All it would take is a signal to our board` to prevent the appeal before the civil court," said Juventus president.
