Marathoner Sets on Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days
Many people love to run, and none of them is considered crazy for having that passion. Dean Karnazes might make you change your mind about people who love to run. The 43-year-old has decided to take one marathon a day for 50 consecutive days, so it is no wonder that people might think he is crazy. Karnazes is planning on running a total of 1,310 miles in the course of 50 days.
The ultra marathoner has already run 350 miles in one stretch, run in the South Pole and even run across the California desert. Karnazes is obviously fit for the challenge. "I`m curious to see what the limits of human endurance are," he said in an interview. "I still haven`t found them."
Karnazes is already training for his chosen mission. The marathoner runs from 80 to 175 miles a week in the San Francisco area, where he lives. "It`s almost like designing an engine that can go 200 miles an hour for a 100-mile(161-km)-an-hour race," Karnazes said of his aggressive training regimen.
