New York Knicks Marbury to Endorse Low Priced Sneaker

Product endorsement has become a part of all major sports fields, and a player is not regarded as a `serious` one unless he has at least one major endorsement on his list of achievements. Stephon Marbury has added another feature to his endorsement portfolio, but this one is not expansive at all. The player is now endorsing a $14.98 sneaker and the "Starbury One" can be found in stores starting last week.

The sneaker was designed by Steve & Barry`s University Sportswear. The New York Knicks guard had other marketing opportunities, but decided to go with the low-priced apparel company, and he is expected to wear the new sneaker during his games.

"We got to know Stephon the man vs. Stephon the basketball player that we read about and saw on television, and we immediately saw how passionate he was about this vision," said Howard Schacter, Steve & Barry`s chief partnership officer.
