Oakland Takes Down Seattle for 15th Straight Time

With such great performance shown by Oakland it was not surprising that Seattle were not able to stop them from marking their 15th consecutive win over Seattle. It is hard to say if any of the other teams, Tampa Bay, Texas or Toronto would have been able to stop Oakland. The game ended with a vicious score of 4-0 to the A`s.

According to the Elisa Sports Bureau, the A`s matched Atlanta Braves` record from 1974 for the longest consecutive winning streak over a division opponent. Although this is quite an achievement, the A`s have a longer winning streak against the New York Yankees, whom they beat 16 times, from Sept 9, 1989, through May 1, 1991.

The lost was a hard blow for the Mariners, as this is their season-worst seventh consecutive defeat. The team is 0-7 on their 11-game road trip. "It`s a learning process," manager of the Mariners Mike Hargrove said. "We`re getting valuable lessons. The bad part of it is we are getting our butts kicked while it is going on. We`ll come out of this."
