Carrick Injured and Out for Three Weeks
Michael Carrick, the ?18.6 million player, was injured on Saturday during Manchester United`s match against Ajax. United did win, but losing Carrick is a though situation for Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United`s coach. Ferguson confirmed that Carrick would be out for about three weeks.
Carrick was injured on the 14th minute of the game and did try to continue, but the pain he suffered from was too much and he had to step down. Carrick will miss the season Premiership opening match against Fullham, and might miss the matches against Charlton and Watford as well.
"It is ligament damage to the ankle," said United boss Sir Alex Ferguson. "It is difficult to say what will happen with these things because we don`t know what his general recovery time is but it will be three weeks at least. It is a blow for the young lad because he has only just joined us and he wanted to do well. It knocks him back a bit but it`s something we have to handle as we have done many times in the past."
