Kings Beat Sharks in Robitaille`s Last Game

The Los Angeles Kings squashed the San Jose Sharks, 4-0, in the last match of the regular season for both clubs. Jason LaBarbera made 31 saves, and even recorded his first-career shutout. This was also Luc Robitaille`s last game in the NHL. Robitaille announced last week that this would be his final NHL campaign. The future Hall of Famer has 668 goals and 1,394 points during his 19-year career.

Los Angeles went up 2-0 on a power-play goal by Mark Parrish 7:19 into the second stanza. From the right corner, Demitra centered the puck to Parrish in front and before being dumped from behind, he backhanded the disc past Nabokov. Norstrom added a power-play goal with less than five minutes to go in the contest to give the Kings a 4-0 lead.

Evgeni Nabokov allowed four goals on 29 shots for the Sharks, who saw an eight-game winning streak come to an end. As the fifth seed in the Western Conference, San Jose will face No. 4 Nashville in the first round of the playoffs.
