Montoya Sounds Reassuring After Melbourne

This Australian Grand Prix brings news from McLaren`s Juan Pablo Montoya. The praised driver claims that he has made a breakthrough with his McLaren F1 car, and that he now has reached the highest level of convenience. This remark comes as a bit of surprise after the incident packed race Montoya had in Australia.

There was also plenty of paddock gossip about Montoya?s future, with speculation suggesting that he was unlikely to be retained by McLaren next season, but in an interview with Speed Tv, Montoya said that Melbourne had actually been his most promising weekend since joining the team. ?I came back after qualifying and I said to the guys it?s the first time actually I could get in the car and just push it,? he said. ?It was the first time with McLaren that I could do whatever I wanted with the car.

Montoya said that he was getting to grips with the McLaren?s under steering tendencies, and that the situation was likely to improve over the coming races. ?It?s drivable, I push the car in, it?s predictable, and it?s a lot better to drive,? he said. ?We have a new suspension for about three races? time, and that should get rid of some of the under steer.?
