UW in volleyball sweep
The last weekend was a good one for the UW valleyball team, and indeed all around for UW`s sports department.
The second-ranked University of Washington volleyball team improved to 5-0 for the season with a 3-0 sweep against North Dakota State to open the Doublewood Inn Classic on Friday. Game scores were 30-14, 30-24, 30-11. Washington has yet to drop a game this season, winning all five matches in 3-0 sweeps.The Huskies led the Bison (0-8) in every statistical category, including kills (56-28), digs (33-24) aces (9-2) and blocks (8-2). Washington combined for a .489 hitting percentage, while limiting North Dakota State to a .129 clip.
Sophomore Christal Morrison out of Puyallup led Washington with 13 kills and four aces. Senior Sanja Tomasevic added 11 kills. Senior Brie Hagerty and freshman Jill Collymore each recorded eight kills in the victory.
