Mason Pushed For a Trade

After accusing Bucks GM Larry Harris of lying to his face, Mason reveals that he has been pushing for a trade all along. Mason claims that his frustration wasn?t the result of being traded, but of how the Bucks handled things. After the Bucks singed Bobby Simmons to a $47 million contract in summer, Mason and his agent Roger Montgomery asked Bucks management them for their permission to actively seek a trade.

The Bucks gave him their blessing to seek out a trade, however, Mason claims that whenever a team would call to inquire about his availability, the Bucks were not interested. Is Mason justified in his criticism? The harsh reality of the business is that anyone is available at any time. If Shaq can get traded, then who is Mason to even speak?

I?m sure that if any Harris would have received any offers that would have made sense for the Bucks he would have given them proper consideration. That being said, it?s understandable why he is so frustrated, after all he was traded from a team that competed for a playoffs spot to one that is not going anywhere in the foreseeable future. At least now he won?t have to compete with anyone for playing minutes. Currently, Mason is the Hornets best option at small forward.
