Bernie?s Vision

I was one of the first to criticize Bernie Bickerstaff when he served as the head coach of the Denver Nuggets. However, as a general manager of the expansion Charlotte Bobcats I have nothing but praises for the job he has done so far. Bickerstaff avoided taking on any large contracts and comprised a roster filled with young and eager to prove players.

During the expansion draft that was held Last summer, He managed to find two gems in Gerald Wallace and Primoz Brezec. Bickerstaff also drafted extremely well trading for the second pick which endedup to be Emeka Okafor.

This year, Bickerstaff added two local products in point guard Raymond Felton and forward/center Melvin Ely, who both played for the champion North Carolina Tar Hills.As long as Bernie Bickerstaff plans to vacate the head coaching position by the start of next season, the future looks bright for the franchise.
