Jazz Playing Different Tunes This Season

Last year marked the first time that the Jazz didn?t make the playoffs under Jerry Sloan, which says a lot since Sloan is the longest tenured coach in the history of pro basketball. Carlos Boozer managed to put the whole Cleveland controversy behind him and started the season terrifically, but then he suffered an injury that derailed his entire season.

Andrei Kirilenko also suffered an injury early on in the season which caused him to miss quite a lot of games. When he finally got back to the team, the Jazz were already out of the playoffs picture. This season, the Jazz are hoping to get everyone healthy and on the same page right from the get go.

The major weakness of the Jazz last year was in the backcourt, which they have fixed over the summer. Through the draft the team was able to acquire its point guard of the future in Deron Williams. The Jazz also picked up Devin Brown in free agency who is an upgrade over anything the Jazz had at the two guard spot.
