Pierce Rumors Refuse to Die

The latest trade rumor surrounding Celtics forward Paul Pierce has him packing his bag and moving to LA for Corey Maggette. Danny Ainge was quick to deny these rumors reassuring Boston?s fans that Pierce is not going to be traded. Since this is not the first time Pierce?s name is being mentioned in trade rumors, you have to wonder how long will Ainge wait before actually pulling the trigger.

It?s no secret that Pierce has come up in trade discussions ever since Ainge took office a couple of seasons ago. Pierce is the most valuable trade commodity at Boston?s disposal, so it?s only natural to see his name pop up every once in a while when trades are discussed. Ainge wouldn?t be doing his job if he doest explore options to improve his team, even at the expense of trading Pierce.

With that being said, the latest rumor involving Maggette seem the most unlikely of them all. Why would Boston trade Pierce for a lesser small forward? If it was for a proven big men who could provide the Celtics with some scoring punch down low, that would have been a whole new matter altogether.
