Setting the Pace in the East

After a tumultuous season, the Indiana Pacers had a relatively quite off-season. The team?s only free agent acquisition is Sarunas Jasikevicius, the Lithuanian player who managed to win 3 consecutive Euroleague titles over the past three year, one with Barcelona and two with Macabi Tel-Aviv.

Jasikevicius is a superb passer and shooter who thrives in the open court. He is by far the best European point guard to enter the league. Though he is projected to come off the bench, expect Jasikevicius to take over the starting point guard spot shortly.

The only downside in Jasikevicius? game is his defense, which is not something he excels in to say the least. However, Indiana is a fantastic defensive team which will surely find a way to cover for Jasikevicius defensively if needed. Additionally, the fact that Indiana managed to keep its roster intact, makes them one of the favorites to win the east.
