Playing the Blame Game in Seattle
As the head coach, Mike Holmgren bears the ultimate responsibility for his team?s wins and losses. However, when it comes to last week?s overtime loss to the Washington Redskins, Holmgren shouldn?t take all the blame.
Josh Brown the Seahawks placekicker missed a 47 yards kick in overtime that could have won the game for Seattle. Brown?s also missed another 47-yarder in the third quarter. Had he made either one of the kicks the Seahawks would have won the game.
So far this season, Brown has made 2-for-2 from the range 47 yards and beyond, so it wasn?t like Holmgren was asking him to do something he hasn?t done before. It?s true that the ultimate responsibility should fall on the head of Holmgren, but shouldn?t Brown share at least some of it?
