Curry Traded to New York

After refusing to take a DNA test the Bulls didn?t have much of a choice but trading center Eddy Curry. The problem for the Bulls was that the only serious offer on the table was from NY. Without a lot of wiggle room Bulls? GM John Paxon traded Curry to the Knicks along with Antonio Davis for Michael Sweetney, Tim Thomas and future draft picks.

The deal will be completed on the condition that all the players pass their physical. The Knicks? medical team is expected to run tests on Curry in order to evaluate the risk level involved in playing him. Even though there is a great deal of risk involved in making this trade, the reward can be even greater.

People have been unfairly criticizing Isiah Thomas two weeks after he took over as the New York?s GM. Thomas has done a remarkable job this summer bolstering NY roster. Yes, he overpaid to get Jerome James, but that was before he got Curry. I liked the trade for Quentin Richardson, I think he adds some much needed athleticism and three point shooting.
