Baby Bulls Facing More Growing Pains
In the reaming days leading to the 2005-2006 season, we?ll focus on each team and what it has done to improve itself over the summer. Today is the turn of the Chicago Bulls, a team that against all odds made into the playoffs last year. Will the Bulls continue to build on last year?s success or was it just a fluke?
The Bulls? only acquisition over the summer was forward Darius Songaila, who fits into Scott Skiles mold of tough rugged players. With most of the eastern conference teams improving their roster, the Bulls might have to straighten their front line, especially if they plan to move Eddy Curry.
The two biggest bright spots in the Bulls future are guards Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon, who superb play was instrumental in the Bulls? playoff run last season. Judging by Scott coaching history, his second season is usually when things start to fall apart. In Phoenix, he butted heads constantly with Jason Kidd. If Scott has learned from his past mistakes, the Bulls will have a better chance of competing for a playoff spot.
