What?s Up with the Packers?
The Green Bay Packers suffered another loss last Sunday, their third in a row. For the first time since 1988, the Packers are 0-3. Over the past three weeks, the Packers seemed more like a team in a rebuilding mode than title contenders.
What?s next for the Packers? Head coach Mike Sherman is in the hot seat, and there is already discussion about potential candidate to take over the head coaching job in Green Bay if Sherman were to be fired. The most intriguing name that has come up as a possible replacement is Mike Holmgren who won a Superbowl ring with the Packers. Holmgren?s future in Seattle is unclear, and he could also find himself out of a job.
This week the Packers are playing at Carolina. If they were to drop to 0-4 that would probably mark the end of Sherman?s tenure as Green Bay?s head coach. You can?t help but feel bad for Brett Favre who could be playing his last season in the NFL. I?d hate to see such a great player finishing up his career with a below .500 team.
