Boozer on the Move?
It?s a foregone conclusion that Boozer will be moved by the trading deadline. However, it?s still remains unclear what the Jazz are actually trying to accomplish by trading him. If it?s cap relief that the Jazz would look for a team willing to absorb his contract and give and expiring one in return. Given the magnitude of Boozer?s contract, it would seem unlikely that the Jazz will be able to do that.
The hottest rumor these days is that the Jazz are discussing a deal with Minnesota in which Boozer will be exchanged in return to Michael Olowokandi and Troy Hudson or Marko Jaric. The notion that the Jazz will take Olowokand and Hudson is absolutely ridiculous. Even though Olowokand comes off the books at the end of the season, Hudson still has 4 years left on his.
Jaric?s contract is even tougher than Hudson?s to swallow since it involves 5 more years. Boozer never got a fair shake in Utah and I think the team would be foolish to trade him at this point, since their not going to get equal value in return.
