Early Candidates Include Surprising Names

Yeah I know, the season has just begun and we are already handing out awards. Well, at least they are imaginary ones. Let?s start with handing out the MVP award, along with the names you expect to find leading thos category like Iverson, James and Duncans of the world we decided to throw into the hat another three names you might not have expected to find. Eldon Brand, Gilbert Arenas, and Chauncey Billups are all leading their respective teams to strong starts and are a big reason why.

For this award we are going to have to go with Billups, who is averaging 18.3 PPG and impressive 9.4 ASG for the undefeated Pistons. For most improved player we have decided to nominate Smush Parkerwho plays PG for the Lakers. Despite cooling down from a fast start is still averaging 13.3 PPG and 3.3 ASG. Phil Jackson likes big guards and Parker seems to be a real find by the Lakers.

For Coach of the Year we nominate Eddy Jordan of the Wizards, who seemingly have not missed a beat without Larry Hughes or Kwame Brown. Getting Caron Butler in the mix has been another great asset for Coach Jordan to turn to - he is another player who might deserve consideration for awards if he keeps up his play.
