Big Sam Makes a Big Difference in LA

In what was supposed to be his swung song, Sam Chassell who was thrown into a bad situation is now making the most of it. Cassel always felt he was underpaid, which is why he was traded so many times over the course of his career. His latest team, the Minnesota Timber wolves was flat out disgusted with his attitude last season, after he was refused a contract extension, leading them to trade him to the Clippers.

When he is not feeling disgruntled, Cassel is one of the most intelligent players in the game. His story is very reminiscing of the movie ?Jerry McGuire?. When he is not carrying a grudge he is very effective. Remember, two years ago he made it to the all star team. Sam Cassell has clearly made an impact on the floor with his 8.0 apg with just 2.71 top, but his shot has been way off. Cassell is career 45.7% from the field. The Clippers have an inside presence along with capable wing players that should free up Cassell. So why is he shooting just 35.9%?

Cassell has been a huge part of the Clipper success, despite the poor shooting. Depth at the point is a concern, but it wouldn`t seem to be an emergency considering the Clipper record. If the Clippers can get a good 75 games out of Cassell this season, they should have little trouble making the playoffs for the first time in years.
