New Look Lakers Lose in Philly

In a horrible shooting night for Kobe Bryant, his teammates picked up the slack helping the Lakers to maintain their lead throughout large stretches of the game, only to lose at the end. Everybody touched the ball as Lamar Odem and Smush Parker shared point guard duties.

Despite not hitting his shots Bryant was impressive nonetheless. Unlike last season, Bryant didn?t try to force things, opting most of the times to settle for what the defense gave him. Kwame Brown was nonexistent throughout the entire game. He simply looks lost out there. He is clearly still trying to figure out his place in the triangle offense. Other than Devin George, LA hardly got any production what so ever from its bench.

If the Lakers were to make the playoffs this season Kobe?s supporting cast will have to elevate their level of game contribute consistently. One of the biggest questions marks as far as the Lakers are concerned is the play of center Chris Mihm. The guy looks great sometimes but other times he just floats out there.
