After last Thursday loss to the Phoenix Suns, the Lakers appear to have a lot of holes the need filling, especial their anemic front line. The Suns front line minus Amare Stoudemire outplayed LA?s front line. As good as Bryant is, his strong point has never been making other players better. This is the worst team Phil Lackson has ever coached (talent wise) and it would be interesting to see what kind of adjustments he?ll make.

The Lakers tried to make a game of it, but no matter how good Kobe Bryant plays, they weren?t able to stop anyone on defense. On the other hand, the Suns have proven that they?ll be able to hold the fort and stay above waters at least until Stoudemire gets back. They have the best point guard in the league, a system that suits his style and a long list of solid, complimentary role players.

Could the Clippers be the best team in LA this season? It?s too early to panic. The Lakers have some nice pieces real, but their interior defense is tissue thin. LA could use someone like P.J. Brown in the worst way, just to get through the season.
