NFC Showdown
Andy Reid and Joe Gibbs will be facing each other later today in a game that will seal the fate for one of the teams who will drop to last place in the NFC. Joe Gibbs is ranked number 1 in winning percentage among active coaches, trailed by Andy Reid. The Redskins are better on paper given the fact that Owens will not be playing today after getting suspended by the team for behavior detrimental to the team. With Owens out, maybe the Eagles will go back to running the ball at least a third of the time.
Both teams have a lot of improving to do after a shameful display in last Sunday. Talking about tonight?s game Reid commented, ?We`ve got to do a better job, starting with me. We`re all in this thing together, and we`ve just got to pick it up an inch?. Gibbs on the other hand said, ?I think we take a long hard look at ourselves, and it certainly starts with me. It seemed like we were kind of all of us together on it?.
The problems both coaches face are stemming from injuries and game plans. Both teams have several key players who are hobbling, and each provided the whole world a blueprint on how it can be beaten in the previous week`s game. Expect the Eagles to go to Brian Westbrook even more than usual. They?ll try to prove that they are actually better without Owens, who has hampered team chemistry all season long.
