Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame has announced the list of potential inductee for its third induction class. Some of the names include Basketball Hall of Famer Earl Monroe, former Philadelphia Eagles great Reggie White, Baseball Hall of Famer?s Reggie Jackson and Roy Campanella. These nominees will be joining other all-time Philadelphians legends such as Joe Fulks, Joe McCarthy, Fred Shero, Hal Greer and Bill Barber.

Dr. Pete Georgelos who handles the public nomination process for the Hall of Fame says, ?We are thrilled with the way the ballot for the third class came together with a well-rounded group for our voting body to consider?. Georgelos continues saying, ?The Hall truly embraces the diversity of Philadelphia sport and the ballot speaks to that with men and women from over a dozen different professional and amateur sports?.

These potential inductees all range from the late 1890?s through the end of the 20th century. Starting with Ed Delahanty?s considering what he accomplished with the Phillies and ending with Leroy Burrell?s dominance in track and field. Local college basketball is well represented by Harry Litwack, Bobby McNeil, Jack Ramsay and Lionel Simmons, marking the 50th anniversary year of the Big 5.
