Hornets Sting Kings

In an opening night shocker, the New Orleans Hornets who relocated to Oklahoma City (due to Hurricane Katrina) blew out the Sacramento Kings to the tune of 93-67. Everyone was quick to write the Hornets off, including yours truly. However, the team managed to pull off a much needed win for boasting their moral in what must have been an emotional game.

Watching the game last night, I couldn?t help but be reminded of the game between Giants and the Redskins that took place earlier this week. The Giants lost their beloved team owner Wellington Mara who died last week at age 89. The Giants responded with an incredible effort, shutting out Washington.

The level of emotions running through the veins of the Hornets? players was obviously high last night. They didn?t play just for themselves, but for the entire city of New Orleans. I would go out on a limb and say that they should enjoy their win while they can because they won?t get too many of them this season.
