Detroit Inks Prince

Tayshaun Prince has received a five-year extension from the Detroit Pistons worth $47 million. After Millwakee Bucks signed Bobby Simmons to a similar contract earlier this summer it became obvious that Prince will not settle for less. In case of Simmons, the Bucks overpaid to get him. In Prince?s case, the Pistons have gotten themselves quite a bargain.

You have got to hand it to Joe Dumars who has once again justified his reputation as on of the top GMs in the league. Considering some of the other contracts lesser players received over the summer, Prince?s contract looks very reasonable considering the fact that he is the top defensive small forward playing today.

Players like Larry Hughes who received a $70 from Cleveland and Joe Johnson who signed a similar contract with Atlanta are the perfect example. These teams overpaid to get these players. Do you mean to tell me that Joe Johnson who has accomplished nothing in his career deserves more money than Prince?
