Tiger Woods wins British Open

With 10 victories in major professional tournaments, Woods now stands third on the all-time list behind Jack Nicklaus` 18 and Walter Hagen`s 11. If you include major amateur victories in the totals, Woods is now tied for second with Bobby Jones at 13 behind Nicklaus`s 20. This is Tiger Woods` second British Open victory.

Woods finished at 14-under par with a final round of 70, took control of the tournament with an opening-day 66 and never relinquished the lead. He led by four shots Friday night and by two shots Saturday night, with major winners like Olazabal, Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh and Michael Campbell in relatively close pursuit.

"It`s a dream come true," Woods said. "The home of golf, this is as good as it gets for the Open championship to be here. If you look at that leaderboard going into today, anything could have happened. I hit the ball so good today."
