Tiger Woods doing well at St. Andrews
One of pro golf`s favorite stars, Tiger Woods, is in his best form at the British Open, taking place at the course which saw the birth of golf, St. Andrews in Scotland. Currently Tiger is at a 6-under-par 66, while golfing great Jack Nicklaus has managed to delay his departure from what will be his last British Open until at least Friday, struggling even to get a 75.
Even amidst the "roaring" of Tiger Woods, spectators and golfers alike took a moment of silence to remember the victims of last week`s terrorist attacks in London. At least 52 people were killed and hundreds injured when bombs went off in three subway trains and a double-decker bus on July 7. On Tiger`s 14th hole, and airhorn signaled a brief suspension of play during which Woods took off his hat, and with closed eyes bowed his head.
Jack Nicklaus is in the British Open more for fun than as a serious contender, but even so as the professional golfer winds down his competitive career the crowds were out in force to see "the Golden Bear" at work.
